All ministry in the Church is a gift from Jesus Christ. Members and officers alike serve mutually based on the ministry of Christ, the one who came "not to be served but to serve." The Staff of NPPC seeks to encourage and equip all members for their own ministry.

Brent began as Senior Pastor at NorthPark Presbyterian Church in November of 2009. He received the Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary. Brent has an intense interest in helping people connect Sunday morning worship with the rest of their lives. He has a deep and abiding commitment to mission abroad and within the city of Dallas. He is the co-founder of Faith/OnTap www.faithontap.net and is on the board of Arrow Outreach www.arrowoutreach.org. When he is not involved with the life of our church, you can often find him at gyms and fields around Dallas coaching his daughter's basketball team or his son's baseball team.

Cynthia Petty

Prior to coming to NorthPark in January, 2008, as Director of Children’s Ministry, Cynthia served for seven years as Director of Christian Education at another church in the Dallas area and is working toward certification. Her responsibilities at NorthPark include mission, education and community activities for those from birth through sixth grade. Cynthia serves on the Board of NorthPark Presbyterian DaySchool and works with Day School staff to provide young children with opportunities to develop a sense of self worth within the context of the Christian faith. She and her husband, David, are the parents of two daughters and a grandson.

Kelly Staples

Kelly is a life-long Presbyterian. She grew up as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport, received her Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University and her Master's of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Kelly is married to Garrett and they have two poorly behaved cats.
Kelly believes effective youth ministry involves an encounter with God and seeks help teens begin the transition from "the faith of their parents" to a "faith of their own".

Melanie Hedrick

Melanie received a B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University and a CPA Certification from the State of Texas. She was Assistant Director of the Day School prior to joining the church staff in 2005. Melanie and her husband Steve are the parents of two daughters, Lindsey and Laura.

Pennie has been with NPPC since 1986 when we were located on Park Lane. Prior to coming to NPPC she worked in the insurance and banking industries. Supporting the staff and handling the requests of the congregation are a large part of her duties. She lives in Rowlett and has a niece living in Scotland, and a nephew living in France.

Carol Blackwood
Director of Children's Music
Carol's father, Jim Farabee, was the Sanctuary Choir Director and organist here at NPPC and she's enjoyed following in his footsteps! SHe has a BFA in Acting from the University of Texas in Austin. She was the staging director for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's CHildren's Chorus for the Christmas Celebration concerts from 2007-2009. She performed with "RSVP...the vocal group", winner of the Manhattan Area Cabaret award in 1988 and has directed several children's musicals for Grace Presbytery. She is Director of Marketing for Our Redeemer Lutheran School. Carol has an extensive background in music and musical theater. Other national credits include "Four out of Five Doctors" comedy improv, hundreds of radio voice-over, TV and film credits include comedy improv, hundreds of radio voice-over, TV and film credites - not to mention the recorded voice you hear when you call our church!

Louis Walker
Organist
Louis Walker earned a BA in Organ and Voice from California State University, and religious graduate studies in Portland, Oregon. Music became an avocation after earning a BS in Computer Science and an MBA, focusing on audit of computer systems and business operations. Citigroup relocated him to Irving in 2003 where he works as an Audit Manager, evaluating bank back-office operations. Balancing business life with music, he has served as organist and choirmaster at several congregations of varying traditions. Louis is excited to be part of the NPPC family and to help lead worship on the phenomenal Cassavant!
