CAMP AND CONFERENCE OPPORTUNITIES through our Presbyterian connectional system:
Jr. Highs:
·Youth Quake(a weekend at camp Gilmont in the fall and spring)
·Jr. High Jubilee at Mo-Ranch (4 days in July 2010)
Sr. Highs:
·Sr. High Youth Connection at Austin College (Jan. 29 - 31, 2010)
·Synod Youth Workshop at Tulsa University (probably July 12-17, 2010).
Summer service: Next summer both the college group and the Sr. Highs will work with Habitat for Humanity in the Mississippi Delta. The College trip is May 24-29, 2010. The Sr. Highs will go June 7-12. Jr. Highs will go from June 9-13 to work at Mission 911 in Corpus Christi.
Other special times for the youth are Youth Sunday (April 18, 2010) when the youth lead the worship service and Confirmation Class for 9th graders, which began in January, 2010. Confirmation is a time when these young people learn more about the Presbyterian Church and their own commitment to be disciples as they prepare to make a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
