Stewpot

The Stewpot is a haven for homeless and at-risk men, women, and children in Dallas providing meals, a food pantry, dental clinic, inner city youth programs, drug and alcohol counseling, I.D. documentation, limited employment assistance, and mail service. Since 1975, the Stewpot's guiding philosophy has been to recognize the potential in the overlooked and homeless in our community who live day to day on the periphery of survival. The generous support of the community has enabled the Stewpot to continue to identify new and meaningful responses to the difficult issues of the poor and homeless in Dallas.

Volunteer opportunities: Stewpot servers Monday through Friday. Saturday school volunteers to provide time, attention and positive reinforcement to elementary age children. Volunteers are needed to assist at the front desk, mail room and as casework volunteers, and I.D. interviewers. A variety of other volunteer opportunities are available. Time commitment and training vary with the volunteer position.
