Working in partnership with the Reverse Food Truck, the new SoulFood Greenhouse furthers the church's commitment to helping reduce the number of hungry families and children in Dallas via the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry.
Construction on the greenhouse began with dirt work to prepare the site and reinforcements applied to the cross, which was relocated in June of 2015.
Following a lengthy permitting process, the foundation was poured and framing erected in April of 2017. The anticipated completion date for the greenhouse is September of this year.
How will it work? The SoulFood Greenhouse will be a hydroponic, pesticide-free facility capable of producing continuous tomato harvests throughout the year. This fresh produce will be delivered regularly to the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry.
How can I help? A SoulFood Registry has been created to allow donors to support specific needs and donate funds to cover necessary items and purchases associated with the operation and maintenance of the greenhouse.
