Interfaith Housing Coalition provides housing, food and clothing to homeless families, as well as, instruction in job search techniques, budgeting and life skills. Child care, adult to child therapy are also provided.
Interfaith Housing serves inner-city homeless families, typically female, single parent families. Families stay in a nicely furnished apartment for a period of 90 days. During that time they receive all of the above services and also save money for a deposit for their own apartment. Interfaith housing has been successful for 15 years, and continues to address the changing needs of homeless families.
Volunteer opportunities: Volunteer instructors are needed for budgeting, life skills and employment skills classes. Also needed, are volunteers in the children’s area to act as tutors and child care assistants. Training is provided for all volunteer positions.
