Brent Barry
Pastor/Head of Staff
|
Brent began as Senior Pastor at NorthPark Presbyterian Church in November of 2009. He received the Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary. Brent has an intense interest in helping people connect Sunday morning worship with the rest of their lives. He has a deep and abiding commitment to mission abroad and within the city of Dallas. He is the co-founder of Faith/OnTap www.faithontap.net and is on the board of Arrow Outreach www.arrowoutreach.org. When he is not involved with the life of our church, you can often find him at gyms and fields around Dallas coaching his daughter's basketball team or his son's baseball team.

Jann Treadwell, (M.R.E.)
Director of Christian Education

Jann was called to NorthPark Presbyterian Church in late 1993 to serve as its Director of Christian Education. Her current responsibilities include the youth and adult education ministries. Like Sally, Jann graduated from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in 1988 with a Master of Religious Education, and completed the Certification process for Christian Educators in 1992 while serving another church in the Dallas area.

Cynthia Petty
Director of Children's Ministry
|
Prior to coming to NorthPark in January, 2008, as Director of Children’s Ministry, Cynthia served for seven years as Director of Christian Education at another church in the Dallas area and is working toward certification. Her responsibilities at NorthPark include mission, education and community activities for those from birth through sixth grade. Cynthia serves on the Board of NorthPark Presbyterian DaySchool and works with Day School staff to provide young children with opportunities to develop a sense of self worth within the context of the Christian faith.

Tinsley E. Silcox,
B.M., M.M., M.S.L.S.
Director of Music

Tinsley Silcox, Director of Music at NorthPark Presbyterian Church, also serves as Director of the Hamon Arts Library and Director of the G. William Jones Film and Video Collection for the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He began his choral conducting career at the age of sixteen, and has since served choirs in a variety of settings, including churches, schools, community choruses, and professional ensembles.
Among his credits are numerous musical theater productions, founder and director of the professional chamber music ensemble Bel Canto, founder and director of the Lafayette-Oxford-University Community Chorus in Oxford, Miss., Assistant Director of the University of Tennessee Concert Choir, and Guest Conductor of the SMU Concert Choir. He served as Director of Choral Activities ad Interim for the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU for the 2001-02 academic year. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and the Association of Anglican Musicians, and is listed in the Who's Who of American Choral Directors.

Dr. David Heller
Artist in Residence

Organist David Heller has risen to prominence as an outstanding performer and pedagogue in the United States. The American Organist has described him as “an eloquent performer,” and his playing as “an excellent demonstration of outstanding music making on a contemporary American organ.” He holds degrees from Lawrence University and the Eastman School of Music, which awarded him the prestigious Performer’s Certificate in Organ. His teachers have included Miriam Clapp Duncan and Russell Saunders in organ, Colin Tilney and Lisa Goode Crawford in harpsichord, and Gerre Hancock in improvisation. He has continued his post-doctoral organ study with David Craighead.
Since 1986, David Heller has been a member of the faculty at Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, serving as Professor of Music and University Organist. His primary teaching responsibilities in the Department of Music are in organ, harpsichord, and music theory. He has held a number of church positions in Wisconsin, New York, and Texas, and has recently been appointed as Artist in Residence for NorthPark Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Dr. Heller participates in the NorthPark worship service one Sunday every month.

Susan Rainbolt
Organist

Susan graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Music in 1989 from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she studied pipe organ with Dr. Mary Ann Craige. She continued her organ study with Dr. Larry Palmer at Southern Methodist University while working on a Master of Music degree in vocal performance received in 2003.
Susan began her sacred music career as organist at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Durant, Oklahoma in 1988. In 1990, Susan undertook the position as Organist at First Presbyterian Church of McKinney, with the additional role of Choir Director being added in 1992. From December 1995 through April 2004, she made the move to First Presbyterian Church of Plano as Director of Music where her duties included serving as organist and directing the sanctuary and handbell choirs. Susan was appointed organist at NorthPark in 2006. In addition to her sacred music career, Susan has served as general music educator and choral director for McKinney I.S.D. from 1990 through 1996 and still enjoys her appearances as vocal soloist in Durant, Denison and the Dallas area. Susan participates in the NorthPark worship service three or four Sundays every month.

Melanie Hedrick
Director of Church Accounting & Finance
|
Melanie graduated from Baylor University in 1981 with a B.B.A. in Accounting. She earned her Texas CPA certification in 1989, and worked for various organizations in the hospitality and financial industries before joining NorthPark Presbyterian Day School in September, 1999. Melanie became Assistant Director at the Day School before joining the church staff in 2005. Melanie and her husband Steve have two daughters, Lindsey and Laura. They have been members of NPPC since 1991.
